A typical example of the Nalle style, with 10% Petite Sirah and Carignan. The nose is opulent, with blueberry and cherry aromas. Rich and juicy, it doesn’t lack fruit weight but is approachable and succulent. Fine concentration and good length assure some ageing potential.

Doug Nalle maakt op ambachtelijke wijze met hulp van vrouw en zoon een Californische top-zinfandel met een enorme, wereldwijde, reputatie. Nalle maakt van de druiven van stokoude wijngaarden een vooral op complexiteit en fruit gebaseerde wijn. Hier dus geen dikke, nieuwe eikenhout-bom maar een prachtige, verfijnde, doordrinkbare wijn met nadruk op sappig en kruidig rood fruit en een toegankelijke, frisse én volle smaakstructuur. Kan nu al prima gedronken worden, zeker na beluchting in een karaf.
